[360° video] Turkey's anti-coup protests
This is the atmosphere at one of Turkey's regular anti-coup gatherings, shot in 360-degree video at Istanbul's symbolic Taksim Square. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called on Turks to take to the streets after the failed coup on July 15, to 'defend democracy'. They have become nightly protests across the country. Taksim Square was the scene of anti-government protests in the summer of 2013.
Protests on the streets of Charlotte, in 360
Following two nights of protests, marchers gathered outside the Omni Hotel where a man had been shot the previous night. They took to the streets of Charlotte and also gathered at the police station asking for the tapes to be released. Most of the evening was peaceful as the group protested through the Uptown area and past Bank of America stadium. As the recently instituted curfew drew near, protesters made their way to I-277 where they finally clashed with police. Even though traffic had already been stopped, officers in riot gear moved the protestors off the highway.
