Human Robotics Lab - 124B
The Human Robotics Lab at the University of Delaware develops robotic devices for physical interaction with humans and pursues their application in motion augmentation, rehabilitation and as advanced tools to study movement neuromechanics. Room 124B is used for the fabrication and testing of human-interacting robots. Two systems are currently being tested: the UDiffWrist, a lightweight cable-driven wrist exoskeleton used for robot-aided rehabilitation of fine motor skills, and the EMG-controlled ball and beam, a system used for teaching neuromuscular interfaces and nonlinear controls in the class Biomechatronics (BMEG467/667).

BioEng Movement Biomechanics Lab - 122
The BioEng Movement Biomechanics Lab researches neuromusculoskeletal modeling, analyzing how people are walking to understand what is happening after injuries and surgeries. The lab looks at muscle control strategies and how that can change due to injury or surgery.
Vascular Physiology Lab - 127B
The Vascular Physiology Lab studies vascular function in both heathy and diseased states. Vascular responses to lifestyle behaviors including diet and exercise are studied. The lab also has a large focus on studying vascular dysfunction in Chronic Kidney Disease patients with the aim of reducing the very high risk of Cardiovascular Disease in these patients.
Move to Learn Innovation Lab - 118
The Move to Learn Lab designs and studies interventions and rehabilitation devices aimed at improving the lives of children with a variety of movement impairments, such as brain injury or arthrogryposis. Their current work includes play interventions, FUNctional Fashions, and wearable technologies such as exoskeletal garments that help kids move.

Room 124 is used for experiments on human robot interaction. Two exoskeletal robots are currently used: the ALEX-II, a treadmill based leg exoskeleton for gait training, and the MR-SoftWrist, an MR-compatible wrist robot for experiments on the control of wrist movements during functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab - 116
The fundamental objective of the research group that works in the Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab is to improve the understanding of muscle coordination for normal and pathological movements through coupled experimental and simulation studies. The group uses computational models to develop a cause-and-effect framework that relates muscle impairments to gait deviations. The overarching goal is to form a scientific rationale for therapeutic interventions to improve movement.
Muscle Performance & Tendon Research Lab - 120
The Muscle & Tendon Performance Research Lab aims to increase function in individuals who have muscle or tendon problems. Studies strive to improve everything from walking to jumping in people with many different kinds of injuries - from cerebral palsy to tendon and joint pain to stroke.
BADER Treadmill Lab - 119
The BADER Lab uses biomechanics and motion analysis tools to understand the mechanics of human gait and applies that understanding to optimize the design and customization of assistive devices, such as orthotic and prosthetic devices. The overriding goal of this work is to assist people with limb loss and limb injuries to reach their highest level of function and quality of life.
Pediatric Mobility Lab - 115
Research in the Pediatric Mobility Lab & Design Studio focuses on improving social engagement and mobility for children with disabilities. Initiatives include a pediatric portable harness, modified ride-on cars and adult in-home/community harness. The lab also works on improving physical function of kids with Cerebral Palsy by developing training approaches and technologies to enhance strength, fitness and participation.
Exercise Intervention Lab - 127
The exercise intervention space allows us to research the effects of acute and chronic exercise in healthy and disease states. In addition, we have implemented supervised exercise training programs for diseased populations including Parkinson's Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease. Students are integrated into running these programs providing a strong model for combining research, teaching and community service.
Nurse Managed Primary Care Center
The Nurse Managed Primary Care Center at STAR Campus offers interdisciplinary primary care and prevention services to UD employees and the public. The NMPCC is a multidisciplinary practice that offers mental health, dietary, health coaching and exercise physiology in addition to comprehensive primary care. The Parkinson’s Clinic, housed within the NMPCC, uses state-of-the-art telehealth technology to allow a movement disorder specialist to bring advanced, specialized care to those in Delaware who have Parkinson's. All clinic therapy rooms are equipped with video production/viewing capability that will allow clients to review progress, allow clinicians to track outcomes and allow students to receive feedback of student-client interactions as a part of their education.
Human Anatomy Lab
Premedical Studies students get a laboratory orientation to skeletal anatomy. The Anatomy Lab consists of 16 anatomy tables, an 18-cadaver freezer and connectivity with cameras to classrooms. The cadavers are anatomical gifts to the University. We treat them with great dignity and respect. At the end of the semester, memorial services are held.
Speech Language Hearing Clinic
The Speech Language Hearing Clinic at STAR Campus evaluates and treats children and adults having communication disorders. Children and adults diagnosed with speech, language or hearing impairments may receive individual or small group treatment services such as articulation, voice, motor speech disorders, swallowing disorders, cognitive communication, oral and written language.
