[360° video]: Jeers and cheers against newspaper closure in Hungary
Several thousands Hungarians have protested outside parliament in Budapest, saying press freedom is under threat following the closure of Népszabadság, the country’s leading opposition newspaper. The owners of the newspaper blame financial losses, but civil rights groups believe it’s been shut down because of its criticism of right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government.
Marvels of Khiva captured from all angles
The ancient city of Khiva in the west of Uzbekistan is a popular destination for tourists. Added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990, the city is described as an open-air museum. Seamus Kearney shows us some of the best sights in the inner city, Itchan-Kala. Take a close 360° look at the famous blue minaret, a mosque, some of the impressive palaces, including Kunya Ark and Tosh Hovli, and also get a splendid view of Khiva from on high.
Buffalo Creek Tiny House Community and RV Park
Tiny house communities are a new part of the tiny house movement, yet they hold a lot of potential to transform lives and communities. The idea behind these villages is straightforward: bring tiny houses together in one place to create communities that share land, time together, skills, support, and other resources. Still in the planning stages, this tiny house village in Weatherford, Texas is the brainchild of Danny Brewer, founder of the Buffalo Creek Tiny Home Community. The village will be zoned as an RV park, but function as a co-op, with shared common spaces and an intentional community vibe. The villages first phase is underway, with two more phases breaking ground now. Produced by ThinkMents.com Copyright of Corey Spicer & www.ThinkMents.com
